What is Google Doing?

Well today the big G decided to strip all of my page rank from both of the sites that I do paid reviews on. Now a fair amount of those paid reviews are valued with page rank in mind. More page rank, the higher paying the review is at times. Now mine is not an isolated case. Most of the people that have checked in over at the boards on PayPerPost have had the same thing happen. I am talking about well established blogs along with some of us newer bloggers. There will have to be some changes in the way our blogs are valued and Google is not going to be it. We are going to have to wait and see how this will all play out but I don’t think that after all of those got slapped for selling links, and now us posties are getting not just slapped but completely stripped of rank that the page rank system will be a viable way to value a blog for advertising purposes.

  1. The Page Rank system has always been pretty artificial. Why should we care about something that has no relationship to exposure or meaningful traffic? Oh yes, I know it has an indirect relationship. But we really have to get over this… Google is the big hypocrite here. Oh so concerned about the integrity of their SERPs when it comes to little serfs like us, but quite willing to sell out to the highest bidder themselves.
