Starting a Website Episode 2
In the last installment of this article we ended with choosing your application. We are going to talk a little more now about setup and proceed from there.
Website setup;
I started by adding a few plugins. Now these plugins offer additional functionality over the standard wordpress application.

Now the setup on each one of these is different and you should read about the functionality and installation of each one before you use it. The next thing you should do is go through the options panel and hit each item and make sure your blog is set the way you want. For example under writing I had to specify which ping services to use. I have my web site name on a few blog rolls so I have blogrolling dot com ping my site.
Under the reading options you should set the amount of posts to appear on your front page. You need to have a good mix here because if you show too many then your page veiws may be low but if you only show one or two on your front page then viewers may get tired of clicking through your site. Right now mine is at 10. I may set it down to 5 and try that.
