New Beginnings

I am not talking about this site but a new site over on blogspot. One Mans Goal is a new site for guy with a new beginning. His goal is to use the internet to be financially independent after 365 days. Can it be done? of course it can but it won’t be easy. Some of you may have noticed that it has been 10 days since my last post. Well that sure isn’t the way to financial independence (the service won’t let me out in a year anyway). He will have to stay on top of stuff and provide quality content everyday. People love to see an updated site. When there is something new to read you don’t mind coming back day after day.

Here are a few of my recommendations;
1. Find a niche. You can blog about anything but also be an expert on one thing.
2. I have already suggested this to him but go ahead and spring for your own hosting and domain name. Some advertisers have a problem with sites that are hosted by blogspot or wordpress.
3. Study Study Study. You should be eating up all of the information that you can on website design, setup, monetizing your site, and anything else that you can think of to get it right. You may have a few sleepless nights for the next few weeks but it will pay dividends in the end.

I wish him luck and all of you other webmasters out there taking a crack at it. I guess the most important thing though is have patients. Success will not come overnight and a quality site will come out on top in the end.

  2. thats quite true, if you own a private domain rather than a free domain,
    you stand a better chance.

  3. The question is what is his plan? I haven’t seen anything laid out yet. Is it just to blog his way to financial independence by blogging about blogging his way to financial independence?

  4. Give him a little time, he is getting it worked out. He has already purchased his domain name and some hosting and I will be helping him set his site up soon. He does have another site also so he does have a little experience.

  5. [...] page once I can get a domain. He also was kind enough to post about me on his blog, check it out HERE. Through all of his contributions, James has earned a spot in the “Supporters” section. [...]
