Free Hosting

I know there are a whole lot of blog hosting services out there and each one has it’s own little quirks. The biggest thing is that you have very little control over the site as a whole with most of those services. Well I have found (thanks to a post on Tyler Cruz) a site that offers free hosting accounts that you have control of. With these sites you control the cpanel, you set up your ftp, you can set up email accounts, and control subdomains. Heck I decided to set one up for one of the domain names that I have parked and I almost have the site up and ready (as soon as I have it up I will give you all the url and let you peek at it). Ever heard of Fantastico? Well they have it for you to use. I will be keeping you informed about how the service is as I continue to work on my new site. If you want to try it out head on over to InsaneGB to get your own free hosting account. Now you can use a subdomain from them for free but I recommend bringing your own domain name. If you don’t have one then head on over to www.GoDaddy.com
where you can purchase one for around $9 for a year. You can’t buy it from InsaneGB, as a matter of fact they don’t sell anything right now. Get it while it last though, there is no telling how long it will last and remember to make backups of all of the work you do just in case. That way moving to another host is easy.

  1. Wow! This is really good hosting. I am currently using a free hosting package too and I thought that it had really good value. But this just blew my mind!

  2. [...] Free Hosting I set up a free hosting account through InsaneGB this past week and so far I only have one complaint, I don’t know how to get my .htaccess set up properly so that it redirects my pages properly. That is my problem though, the hosting is great. If you are still using blogger or some other free blogging platform go to www.GoDaddy.com , pick up your domain name, and then head over to InsaneGB for your free hosting. [...]
