Entrecard

It took me a little while to finally sign on over at Entrecard and boy was I missing a great opportunity! Since signing up, dropping a few cards, my traffic has more than doubled and I haven’t even placed my first ad yet. I have had my membership for a little over 24 hours now and I have had 48 visitors from Entrecard and 14 people have lined up to place ads on my site. I have earned 87 credits to apply towards advertising on other sites. I think I am going to save them up until I have around 1000 and I will try a little ad campaign and see what it does for my traffic. So here is my plan;

1. I will try and place one ad on a high profile blog that fits my niche and place ads on several smaller sites so that all of the ads will show on the same day.
2. Time it with a renewed offer for free plugs on the site if you subscribe to my RSS feed.
3. Hopefully I will have some other good things to offer, maybe a little contest.

The goal is to grab traffic and hopefully keep it. I would like to get the site up to a sustainable 100 uniques per day. The only way that they will stay though is if I can give them something good to read on a regular basis. I am still working on that and hopefully in the next few days I can get the site right so that people will want to stay longer and read the blog instead of giving it a passing glance.
Well that is what I am going to try and do, and if you haven’t joined Entrecard yet then go ahead and try them out. I can almost guarantee you will be happy with the results. I would also like to thank all of the advertisers who have lined up to advertise on my blog. One last thing (this is for all of you that have taken the time to read this post) if you comment on this post and then place an ad request on Entrecard for my site, I will give you half of the credits back when the ad runs! I think the queue is full for placing an ad on my site but once you place a comment on my site I will start looking for you to place your ad (it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if you subscribed to my RSS feed either).
Good luck blogging!

  1. Great Post!

You may want to get over to the EC blog and do some reading though.

When you finally advertise for a site, you will notice that they only give you 1 or 2 credits (at least at first) which represents something like 10% of the credits it costs us to ‘pay’ - they say that this is to keep everything going.

Not sure about that part - someone over there has superior info on this than I.

Let’s say I want to advertise on your site and I ‘pay’ 20 credits and I get in your queue. When I actually run on your site, you will notice that 2 credits go into your cache.

I’ll take the 1 credit back, sure. If you were thinking that you’d get that 20 credits, that isn’t what’s happening.

If you had a 200 credit blog, you’d get 20 back I think.

Check it out for yourself - I’m writing this all from memory at this point.

I must admit that my traffic has been quite good as well on my blog and EC is the source.

I’ll go and check on advertising on your blog now. :)

p.s. good luck ‘timing’ it for all sites too - everyone is on a different schedule - unless you go to every single newbie and get them right away!

  2. Thanks for the information. I kind of noticed that yesterday but I didn’t really dig into it. That’s okay though, I will still refund half of the credits back that the person paid to advertise on this site. It is still only good for those that comment here.

  3. I have had way better results from EntreCard than Blog Rush. In fact, I am think off getting rid of the widget taking up valuable space on my blog!
